Hi all

Not sure if this is the proper place to seek help, but I am going to ask
here. This whole Internet thing has got me a bit perplexed. I happened about
here just by clicking on the buttons on the Microsoft website.

I just received a new computer from my family for my birthday and it came
with something called "Vista Home". First off, what is this mess?

I have been happily using my current (maybe old ?) computer to do all things
I need to do. Such as, pay my bills, email friends and family, internet, and
printing. My "old" computer was from 2002, and to me, seemed , be working
fine. ( It runs XP )

Now I have been trying to just do simple things, such as install the
software for my camera and printer, and all it does is keep asking if I am
authorized??!!!

Hell. It's MY computer, and Yes, I want to INSTALL these things.

If this is the future of the PC, I will stay with my XP .

Thanks for the ears .

Hi,

Visit this site for more information on "UAC" User Account Control
http://technet2.microsoft.com/Window....mspx?mfr=true

BTW, take the time to learn about this safety feature. It's not working
against you, but rather for you. In a nutshell it is protecting your system
from Spyware, Viruses and so on.
