actually this occured shortly after I added the contact. I had him message me
and messenger said he wasn't on my contact list. so I clicked on the link
that would allow him to be added to the contact list. when that didn't take I
re added that address. well instead of leaving that address like it does if
I have a hotmail contact it added it again with a number. now I have a test
account that I created with yahoo that was created using the new mail system
which includes a way you can sign into messenger. I added that address to my
messenger address and got the same prompt as I did before when I re added
that contact. that the contact had already been added to the messenger list
and something about two contacts at the same time therefore it had one with
the regular name and one with the number beside it. I tried that same thing
on another address that I use for messenger as well and the same thing
happened on that one. the deletion of contacts applies to hotmail and yahoo
contacts. basicaly if anyone were to delete me at the time I am on messenger
I would have to sign out and resign in to be able to see that I had been
deleted. I have done tests on that as well. the problem I had with my test
addresses was that when I deleted the contact it would take st least twice
before I could get the name deleted. if it was deleted on this address it
wouldn't show up as deleted. and the same thing with that one. I am wondering
if this is just s glitch somewhere or not as in all of the years I have used
messenger starting with version 6.2 I have never come across this before. the
only thing I have come across is having random people add me that I had no
clue who they were.
