(a) Can you upgrade from Vista-32 bit to 64-bit without trashing your
disks ?

(b) I have the 32-bit disks, can I get the 64-bit disks cheaper than
buying a new set ?

You will have to do a clean install of Vista x64.

If you got a retail version of Vista, there should be an enclosed coupon
directing you to a web site to request the 64-bit version for a small (~$US
10.00) shipping fee by mail. And you can keep your 32-bit installation disks.

The bigger question is WHY? Do you have a new piece of hardware or software that required 64-bit? Can you get 64-bit drivers for all of your hardware, both internal (video cards, etc.) and external printers, scanners, web cams, keyboard and mice?

This is a 64 bit age. I think it is about time the common operating system is 64 bits. The hardware vendors need to start supporting 64 bit.

You've talked me out of it. I just thought that since I've got a 64-bit
computer I should give it a whirl.

But, after all the trouble I've had lately with Nvidia drivers, your
advice is sound.
