I downloaded the beta 3 and installed it...

I was astonished to see that it worked faster than vista!!!

This was due to the fact that it lacked many of the "features" that bogged
down vista.

I know its a server edition and I have no problem with that...many people
use win2k3
as a "desktop" too ..

What i want to know is:

1) Can I add windows mail and media player 11 to it since it seems that it
lacks these.
I am now using alternatives to these...
2) Can I make IE 7 work with all sites and not work in secure mode?

thanks

Media Players 10 and 11 will not install in this version of Windows Server.
The Outlook email package ( not Outlook Express ) from M/S Office will
install in Server 2008.
Check out the Longhorn public forums as you may be more successful in
obtaining info there. There are links provided on the M/S Windows Server
Codename Longhorn website(s). ................John.

Hi John,

Windows Media Player version 11.0.6001.6326 is part of the Windows
Server 2008 package and works properly with the Server OS. You set it up
by selecting the feature "Desktop Experience". Other media players that
work well with Windows Server 2008 are: Foobar, GOM Player, Media Player
Classic, and VLC.

SeaMonkey is an excellent alternative to Internet Explorer. It includes
mail and newsgroup modules.
