quick launch will not appear even when ticked

hi my quyick launch was working ok then yesterday morning it disppeared when
my machien got stuck. I restarted my machien and it was like everything had
been reset as all passwords and stuff had disappeared. I went to the
porperties box and ticked quick launch and hit apply then ok but nothing
happens. then when you go back in to check it it is unticked again.

any advice as I am missing my quick launch and its convenience

did you set 2 places for quick launch.

right click of tool bar and select tool bars and make sure quick launch is clicked.
also under Start Properties do the same.
