Just two days ago, the shortcuts in the start menu no longer launch any
applications. I cleared the list out, went into the start menu / programs
and launched the application.

Once it repopulated in the frequently used list, it doesn't launch the
application. I can still launch it from start menu / programs.

Any ideas?

I would change the Theme out to Classic Windows style, restart Windows, then
change back to Aero.

Hello,

Firstly, will you please let me know which version of Windows Vista you are
using (RC or RTM)?

I would like to suggest that you do the following two tests before we can
go any further investigation.

Test 1.
======

Boot your machine into safe mode. Try these operations again and see how it
goes.

You can do this by pressing F8 when you boot your computer.

Test 2.
======

Create a new users account.

Log onto your computer with this new account and see how it goes.

Please let me know the results.

Thank you.

Sincerely,
George Yin
