Hi. I am running an acer tablet c300 series. I have successfully changed over
to English, using the restore cd's because the device was purchased in
Taiwan, while I am not Taiwanese.
I ran for a few days in service pack one, but i know that there is a great
function of Multi-language transcriber support in SP2 only.
I am a student, so it is important to me to be able to write chinese
characters.
After having installed SP2, it was my intent to immediately install the
chinese language recognizer. That was a couple of hours ago.
I got distracted with some other things, and oddly enough, have noticed
*** my problem ***
my quotation mark key '" and my tilde key ~`with the other type of quotation
mark both have the same very odd problem. They require a double strike, or a
strike of the key plus a space to produce the correct character (with or
without the shift key). Neither of these keys are mapped to special keyboard
functions. Both of the keys create extended alphabetic characters when used
immediately before a letter. such as ' and the a key makes a á.
I chose to use the us-international keyboard upon setup, because I intend to
be writing both with the keyboard and the stylus in chinese, but I still want
normal function of my quotation marks as I am a touch typer.
thanks
