Qwest Branding

When I updated Live Messenger, I now have Qwest Branding, a Qwest link and
Qwest advertising. Although Qwest is my ISP, I don't want their branding. Any
ideas on how to remove it? If it can not be removed, I will have to use
another IM product.

Just uninstall Messenger and re-install it directly from here:

Just uninstalled and downloaded from the link you provided. When I open Live
Messenger, the header is"Windows Live Messenger". As soon as i log it it
changes to "Qwest Messenger". The color scheme also changes.

Modifying the dll file did not work for me, it just gets re-patched. I have
found that blocking g.msn.com (the download source) it cannot be patched.
