Hello

Currently all of our DC's (5 of them) are running Windows 2008. The DC's
have been running windows 2008 for a year now. The domain and forest
functional levels however are still at 2003 native. I would like to raise
the DFL and FFL to 2008, but before I do this I want to understand if
raising the levels changes the way that AD does it authentication or
authorization? If all DC's are already running 2008, then raising the DFL
and FFL shouldn't create any changes that haven't already been introduced
when all DC's were upgraded to 2008.

We have appliances like Datadomain Netapp SANS Cisco radius call manager.
None of these appliances have experienced issues authenticating to a windows
2008 DC

thanks

Hello Sawyer,

Raising the functional level will not change the way how authentication works,
it gives you additional options, see here about:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...ls(WS.10).aspx
