RAM Upgrade not recognised

Hi,

I have Vista Ultimate installed, and had 3GB of RAM in it.
I needed to get some RAM for another PC, so I got another 2x1G that were
compatible with my PC, and replaced the 2x512M.
This gives me a total of 4GB RAM.

When I boot the PC, the BIOS shows I have 4G installed, but Vista says I
still have 3G!

How can I make Vista recognise my full amount of RAM?
Is it using the full amount anyway?

Thanks.

Paul

Vista 64 bit will recognize 4 gig of Ram. Other versions of Vista will only see 3 gig. This is normal what you are seeing

Depending on what devices are mapping themselves in
you will get access to about 3.12 Gig or less.

Switch off your pc and clean the chip with a dry soft cloth n pur it back.
Then see again.

Robert,

If he's running 32 bit Vista, or -any- 32 bit OS for that matter, he's not
going to see more than 3GB's RAM. (Give or take 0.2GB's... 2.8 to 3.2GB's,
approximately, depending on installed hw.) Cleaning the chip will not change
that.

May you burn in the fires of hell. And after that, may things get
*really* bad for you.
