Hi,
Rambooster, and other programs like it, are not good for any version of
Windows. They work contrary to the memory model used by Windows by forcing
memory to be stripped of cached data. By design, Windows uses memory caches
to speed access to frequently used files/data. When it's forcibly stripped,
the system has to perform an extra step of seeking out and reloading that
data.
She needs to look at what's loading at boot on the system and eliminate
non-essential routines. There are tools like autoruns
(
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../bb963902.aspx) that can
help you identify and remove the entries loading unneeded software.
