Random failure to connect to network

I have a private wireless network set up between a Gateway desktop and a
Gateway laptop. Both of which are run Vista Home Premium and Norton
Internet Security. Upon occasion, completely random, the laptop will not
connect to the network. I have to re-apply the wireless network setting on
the Net gear hardware.

Any suggestion or ideas?

Thanks,
