Random system crashes

      12-25-2007

My new computer runs Vista Home Premium and after some system/driver
updates, it suffers from constant crashes. I have no idea what's causing
it. It happens if I have more than one thing running at a time, or it
could happen before the computer finishes its startup. I'll add any
additional info if needed.

Since the problem occurred after your unnamed "system/driver updates",
uninstall whatever they were - starting with the drivers. Then install
only one thing at a time, testing after each install. As a guess,
perhaps you installed drivers from Windows Update which is generally a
Bad Thing. If you did this, roll them back to ones that worked:

Hi,

The full text of the stop error screen would help. If it's flashing too
quickly, go to the control panel/system/advanced and click startup and
recovery settings. Disable the line to autorestart on system failure.
