I suspect the RAW functionality has not yet been implemented, as for the
weather Gadget, its possible that it might return in a later build.

Have you tried the one thats available for Windows XP SP2 today:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en

Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or later is required. This program is not
recommended for use on any other version of Windows.
* It says Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later, maybe any other versions of
Windows would be referring to Windows 2000 and below.

Yes, I'm using it on my XP but haven't tried it on Vista though...

Now I'm using Canon RAW image process software to 'develop' my photos and
use Google Picasa for some other basic tasks like straighten and sharpness
adjustment etc...
Hopefully when Vista finally comes out, I can just use one single Photo
Gallery for all those *basic* tasks and leverage WinFS orgnization
features...
Now all those s/w provide overlapped features (like orgnization which should
be handled by file system) but lack some important pieces (e.g. Picasa is
not good at RAW)...

Thanks
Kent

There is a lot of stuff thats not implemented yet in Vista, even though its
at BETA 2, No unix subsystem, virtual pc express and RAW feature just to
name a few, so there is still more to expect. As for WinFS, don't know when
that will be made available for Vista or even to the public. Its currently
at BETA 1 Refresh and BETA 2 is expected at TechED (speculation). Bob Muglia
(MS) said, don't expect it in Longhorn Server or Longhorn Server "R2", just
like Windows PowerShell, WinFS is just too new and needs extensive testing.

So, its possible we might not see final version and integration into Windows
until Vienna.

Try using AWS Weather Bug 6.07 (I have it working on Windows Code Name Long
Horn Server Beta 2, so it should also work on Windows Vista Beta 2),

I remember Windows Vista is supposed to natively support RAW format, but it
seems I still cannot view Canon CR2 format with build 5384. Or I missed
something?
And I also remember in one of previous builds (5365, I guess) there was a
weather sidebar gadget, I like it very much and I'm surprised it's gone in
later builds including this 5384. Please, please add it back on the gadget
website...

Thanks

Right, I installed WinFS beta 1 and I'm looking forward to 'project
orange'... ;-)
Hope it's not another application with all advanced features but lacks one
tiny feature which is the most important to the end user... ;-)

Kent,

RAW support WILL be avaiable in futre releases of Windows Vista. The Codecs
will need to be downloaded from the Vendor site but Vista is setup so the
photo gallery will immediatly take advantage of the Codec once it is
installed. We have also provided UI that will link you to a download site.
Hope this helps!

Kent,

RAW will be supported in future versions of Windows Vista. The codecs will
need to be downloaded from the vendor site however we will provide UI to link
you there. Once the codec is installed the Vista Photo Gallery is setup to
work with the new RAW formats. Look for this feature in future releases.

Hope this helps.
