RDC broken after installing KB956744 and/or KB969947

On random computers, after installing one of the above patches to XP Pro, we
get a lockup condition when logging in remotely, requiring a hard power off.
The computer completely freezes up. Uninstalling the update fixes the problem.
Has anyone else heard of this problem?

KB969947 shows known issues that involve ATI and Nvidia graphics cards,
Windows XP, and RDP: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/969947

" After you install this security update on a Windows XP-based computer
that is using an NVIDIA or ATI-based video adapter, Remote Desktop
Connection sessions may hang or stop responding. To resolve this
problem, install the latest drivers for your video card. "

The other issue involves XP systems that do not boot "correctly" and the
ATI Radeon HD 2400 series.

KB970927 shows the known issues of KB956744 for the different Versions
of RDP Clients plus a way to contact MS for assistance:
