RDC causes console to hide wallpaper

When I am at work I often use Remote Desktop Connection to use my home
computer. (Both are Windows Vista Business with SP1.) RDC is set not to
display the remote wallpaper. Usually, when I later go home and log onto
my home computer, the wallpaper is missing until I go to Personalize |
Desktop Background, at which point the wallpaper reappears.

How can I stop RDC from interfering with the display of my desktop
background? Please note: I am *not* asking how to show the remote
desktop background in RDC.
