this message comes up whenever i try to access windows update. my system is
windows xp home, 3.46 ghz celeron biostar motherboard, high speed internet.ie
7, all the updates are up to par. i don't know how to get rid of this thing.
about an hour ago. 10:00PM est, i downloaded ie 8. the problem is still
there. any help will be appreciated. thanks.

Error messages that you may receive when you try to download and install
updates from the Windows Update Web site, from the Microsoft Update Web
site, or from a WSUS server: "0x800704DD," "0x80240020," or both

Downloading IE8 wouldn't solved the problem. You are aware that IE8 is still
in "Beta"?
