For error 0x8DDD0007 you can try this:

Start/Run --> regedit.exe

If the RebootRequired key exists in registry, delete the key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
\CurrentVersion\WindowsUpdate\Auto Update\RebootRequired

The machine that gives this problem doesn't have the registry entry you
suggested.
