You could always call back and speak with someone else.

And since SP2 did, in fact, install, your questions really have nothing to
do with Windows Update and you'd be better off discussing this in a
Vista-specific newsgroup (e.g.,
news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsof....vista.general) or forum
(e.g.,
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/...stasp/threads/).

Or you could just see...

Thank-you for the replies.
I think Shenan Stanley MVP has answered the question to my satisfaction. I
was looking at System Restore before your posts came up. There were only 5
restore points listed, and I think there had been more at another time. I
did the command line or whatever it's called, to check on shadow copy
storage size and maximum shadow copy storage space. There were only 5.79 GB
being used, with a maximum of 20.8. If a bunch of older restore points were
deleted when installing SP2, that could account for the "missing" 18 GB.
Mystery solved. Thanks again. K.C.

YW. Yes, what you describe in System Restore is default behavior after
installing the Service Pack.

And you may wanna check out

anyway.
