Beware!! After upgrading to IE8,
(1) Microsoft Money for Small Business can no longer PRINT INVOICES (it shut
down my business),
(2) the instructions to remove IE8 (revert to IE7) do NOT work!!
(3) Microsoft Technical Support was unable to uninstall IE8 from my Vista O/S,
(4) and IE8 "stops working" (e.g., crashes) often!

Works here. What do you mean EXACTLY "doesn't work"? What happens when you
try?

Asking a question?
Please tell us the version of the application you are asking about,

I'm still trying to figure out how it "shut down" his "business."

Well, he did mention he could not print invoices. I don't if you've
been in business, but if you can't bill anyone, it's definitely hard
to turn a profit.

Maybe because I was born in the mid 50's, I learned how to actually write
invoices with a real pen on real paper. If you have a small business and
run the financial aspect of it strictly on a computer with any backup, be it
digital or the real way, you're a fool. I still deal with businesses that
use computer billing, but if it goes down they still have pen and invoice
books. Again, maybe it's because I'm from an earlier generation where we
learned math without calculators.

You think you had it tough, I wore my fingernails down until they bled
because all my parents could afford was a slate and no chalk...

Bah. If you write more than a couple of invoices a week you'll
quickly go nuts trying to maintain a set of paper journals. Plus your
accountant will still ask for your records in electronic format.
Electronic accounting means a small business owner doesn't need to hire
a book-keeper. And if you DON'T have one there's no way you'll have time
for good accounting AND running your business.

Nobody maintains paper journals anymore unless some security reg
requires it, and then they're adjuncts to the electronic ones.

Bah, your ass. How long are most systems down? A few handwritten invoices
won't kill anyone and can be entered as data when the system is up and
running. This is contingent on knowing what a paper invoice is and how to
use it.
