I believe that Norton's firewall is included in the Norton Internet Security
suite........if you have purchased and installed Norton Antivirus as a
standalone package, it would not include the firewall.

A few other possible solutions, which have worked for others, are:

1) If using a router, reset the MTU to 1492 or less.

2)Go to Start>Run
key in net stop wuauserv
Go to Start>Run
type %windir%\SoftwareDistribution then press enter
Delete all files and folders in the SoftwareDistribution folder
Go to Start>Run
key in net start wuauserv

3) Same as 2, only delete just the contents of the DataStore folder within
SoftwareDistribution folder, not the entire contents of SoftwareDistribution
folder.

If you had a router, you would check the documentation for it in order to
find out how to change the setting.

Unfortunately, I don't know any other possible resolutions for that error
:-(
I will keep looking and will hopefully find something. In the meantime, if
you do come across the fix that works for you, please let me know.

Hi

I have the same problem with Update Windows XP Home Edition no proxy,
router ... even worse, I can not even log in to my Hotmail account or
some secure sites like booking hotel from www.ebookers. I get: "The
page cannot be found." after long waiting.

Also problem with updates from Windows. I tried hard with switching off
firewall (McAffee), just exited this program, then tried with MTU
settings, deleting, entering values... have searched for solutions and
tried every I have found on Internet.
Please help!
Regards,
Monika
