It would be better to remove all vestiges of the MSJMV since support for
it will end in just over one year.
Currently, Sun's JRE is available as a replacement -

BUT, be VERY wary of Sun's auto updater. It leaves older versions behind
when a newer one is released. You'll have to manually uninstall them
from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
So what ? So, they are approximately about 115 MB in size.
And, it may not prompt you to install the most current version for
months after it's release even though there may be a Critical security
vulnerability with the version that is installed.
Now, if MS acted like Sun does ... it would make national news, be on
scores of blogs, and everyone would be flaming them.
I wonder why no one's flaming Sun for this pathetic "update mechanism" ?
