Solution found:

I duplicated the USB connect failure on my own personal Toshiba Pocket
PC.

I had been using Version 3.8, but loaded 4.1 for testing. XP found the
device but then the familiar "Connection Box" click and Tone issue came
up immediately. Mimicked the same conditions, as I've seen on the PC
with the SmartPhone unit.

Following the instructions for Zone Alarm, I added exception rules for
1. WcesMgr.Exe
2. WcesComm.Exe
3. RapiMgr.Exe
4. CeAppMgr.Exe

As soon as I completed those changes to ZA, ActiveSync presented the
create Partnership box. Believe this will also work for the Sprint 6770
that has this issue. (Hopefully ?)

Hi,
The problem with ZoneAlarm would affect all devices that attempt to connect.
So it should work for the 6700 as well.
