Well, I deleted the partnerships, renamed the device, and started over.
Syncing was still not perfect (still deleted some files), but better. You'd
think it would be easy to build a program that simply compares files and
keeps the newer of the two (without deleting files on a whim), but I guess
there's something a little more complicated about it than that.
The point is that I simply cannot trust ActiveSync 4.1, until it starts
functioning the way it was intended. If Microsoft ever fixes it, I'll be
pleased.
Like I said, I would revert to 3.7, but VisualStudio2005 requires 4.1. Nice.
