Greetings Sandra,
The feature you're looking for isn't in Messenger, but you can add it by using Messenger
Plus! Live:
http://www.msgplus.net
Note: be sure to download the version for Live Messenger 2009 on the download page.
You'll find the option after installing Plus! by opening up the main Messenger window,
pressing the Alt key on the keyboard to bring up the menu bar, choosing the Plus! menu, then
Preferences & Options, and finally the Conversations tab. You'll find the auto-accept
options at the bottom of that window.
