1. Depending on the OS version you use there is no option to make automated
backups to shared folders within Windows server 2008, here only manual backups
are possible. Windows server 2008 R2 is capable of doing so. You need a SEPARATE
disk for scheduled backups, doesn't matter which version you use, as the
disk will be made hidden for all other options after configuring backup.
Also backup to tape is no longer supported.
2. If you have a local disk or network location where the backups are stored
there is not problem to save that data also with another backup solution.
