Also, I dont actually think Bill Gates reads these newsgroups, though I
suppose you never know.

That is true, but do you have any idea how many newsgroups there are?
Then add all the private newsgroups that most of us can not even see.
To even skim all the newsgroups would take all his time and leave him "hands
off" everything else.
Since these are peer to peer newsgroups, Microsoft does not officially
monitor them.
It is entirely possible your post is never seen by anyone employed by
Microsoft.
