so far ive not had any trouble downloading using ie8 but it sure is the most
troublesome ie ive ever used. its slow and gets slower the longer i have it
open and new pages and tabs become non-responsive and i have to close it and
re-open it every coup0le of hours in order for it to "work correctly". this
has been an issue for all my friends and myself since win7 beta. i had hoped
the issue would be resolved in the final release, but it seems to be the
same. im no expert, but i am far from a computer idiot and imho ie8 is the
problem the most of us end users

Hi jedab,

And your question is?

Could you please start your own thread on a new topic.

Have you run in no-Addons mode to test if an incompatible Addon is causing
the problem?

Are your win7 builds OEM or Upgrades from either XP or Vista. x86 or x64.

Tell your friends to post their questions here or in the public MS support
forums if they are having issues. Generalized rants are of no help to either
us or you.

The quality of our answers will be proportional to the quality of your
question.

Regards.

friends...and by the way...im the guy my friends come to to solve their
computer problems and this ie8 issue is the first time i have been stumped by
any problem me or my friends have had since like windows me. as i said, im no
computer idiot and since i cant solve the ie8 issue i came here to find a
solution in others problems and all i find when i post MY question or express
sympathy for anothers issue is attitude from most of the ppl who post replies
to help others, such as yourself.

Hang in there jedab, don't pull your hear out just yet.

Sometimes to solve a problem it is a good idea to leave it alone for a while
and give your brain a rest.

Often after a fresh start the solution may become obvious. (how many times
have I done this, to find the answer right in front of my nose).

I see they are giving you a bit of a bashing on your new thread. It is a
testy time of year for everyone. Close off from this thread now and
concentrate on the suggestions from your own thread.

Cool!

rob, this ie8 thing has been a problem for around a year now...giving me
PLENTY of time to try EVERYTHING over and over and over again, including
formatting the hard drive and re-installing windows all over again, and i
always have this problem from "day one" and its a problem for me on windows 7
beta...rc...rtm...and the retail version i actually bought as well as an
issue on friends computers running xp, xp pro and vista...so i am inclined to
say its an ie8 issue. the winxp computers and the windows vista computers
have 1.5 gigs of ram and the win7 computers have 3 gigs of ram. i guess im
boring everyone on here with my issue which i started a thread for and i am
so sorry to carry it over to this one.
thank you so much rob for your posts as you seem to be the second person who
is trying to be of help instead of saying my lack of "troubleshooting" is the
cause like the ones who dont read my posts but answer me insist.
thanks again rob.
