How to re-build WSUS?

Hey there,

Over the past 2 weeks the server we run our implementation of WSUS on has
started running very slow. The processor is consistently running at 80-90%
even though there are few connections to the box. Most of the proc
utilization is from SQL. I've narrowed down the issue IIS. If I stop the WWW
server all issues stop. The only thing on the box is WSUS. I've seen WSUS do
this one other time already so I suspect WSUS is the issue.

I'd like to re-build the box but don't want to spend days re-configuring all
the approvals and machine groups. Can I just backup the DB and re-install
WSUS, then restore the DB? Or is there a better way to migrate my settings?

Or is there a better way to fix?
