An error occurs when Windows Update is unable to download and install the Windows Update ActiveX
component.
Can also be caused when a firewall blocks the download of the component.

Try adding the following sites to the IE Trusted Sites zone

http://update.microsoft.com
http://download.windowsupdate.microsoft.com
http://update.microsoft.com/microsof...6/default.aspx

You receive an "Initialization error 0x800A1391" error message and the Windows Update Web site does
not appear

Click to clear (uncheck) the Require server verification (https for all sites in this zone check
box

Make sure your Firewall isn't blocking Windows Update.

Also check for the presence of malware on the system. Go here to have it
scanned :
