I am having the same problem - I'd rather buy a non-Windows phone than deal
with this any further. Has anyone found a solution to this?

This worked for me:

Log in with administrator privileges and in My Computer, open:
C: Drive > Windows > System32

Double click on this file: fixmapi.exe

As it turns out, I used Eudora Pro to view some archived email and it
trashed a DLL. This fixed the problem on my end.
