Hi,
Boot to Safe mode, logon to the administrator account available only there
and reset your user account password.
Before attempting to put XP on it make sure there are drivers available for
the proprietary hardware used in many laptops. Without them you may not be
able to install or use some of your laptop's features. If it is a sata
drive, you will most likely have to have a driver on floppy to feed to XP
setup (yes, it must be on a floppy, XP setup will not search any other
medium). Also, to install XP you will need to remove and rebuild the system
partition as it cannot install to a volume created by a Vista (it can read
it, but not install to it).
