Hi, Bobby!
Odd (Problematic) things do happen when everything isn't kept updated
regularly, that's for sure. Sorry for the delay getting back to you.
Deleting IE files can leave you stranded - you'd have to go through a
reinstall. Still a few things to try though. There's been a lot of crap
going around and you could very easily have a worm, trojan, virus, etc - all
it takes is one of the right type to get you running in circles. Your AV
program may not be doing the job that needs to be done, plus you should have
a good firewall and anti-malware utility; ZoneAlarm Security Suite will take
care of the Firewall and AV, then you need something like PestPatrol, or
Ad-Aware SE. You can download a 15-day trial of Zonelabs Security Suite,
which will at least ensure that your system is actually clean. The link to
the trial is:
http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/fre...tup_51_011.exe
If you can swing it, the registration for this system is $39 when you
upgrade from registered McAfee, Norton, or any other AV program. But running
it and making sure your system is clean is worth the download time;
afterwards, you can always download and run their FREE firewall, which does
an excellent job, but has no bells or whistles (and their bells and whistles
aren't just for show!). After all that, you can do either a reinstall, or
repair of your opsys -- if running WinXP, you can insert your installation CD
and choose the option you want (a reinstall usually picks up what you already
have, leaving maybe some programs needing reinstalling just so the opsys
again knows where everything is).
