Are you installing all updates then installing SP2?
If so, you don't need to do this, as SP2 already includes those and more,
try installing SP2 without installing any updates.

Also, you can try adding the "/nobackup" switch in the command line (use
start run "directory path\WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU" /nobackup) (all
without quotes)
this will skip the backing up of files, see if that works.
The only problem with that switch, you WILL NOT be able to uninstall the
service pack.

Hope these suggestions work.

That's strange, as far as I know it should be listed on WU
after you install the OS (either original retail or SP1 integrated).
(integrated is when the SP is integrated right into the installation disk)
But I've been doing installs of SP2 integrated since it was released, and
couldn't tell you for sure.
