Yes. You will have to at least do a rep[air installation. Rarely, but
occasionally that's not sufficient, and you have to do a clean
reinstallation.

No. Neither registration nor re-registration is ever required. You are
likely confusing registration with activation, which *is* required.

Try the repair installation first, but be aware that it may not work and the
clean reinstallation *may* be required.
