Thanks for the reply. I tried both Methods One & Two and still can't get
chkdsk /f to start when I boot. I have determined that the corrupt files
are in the Microsoft Games folder. When I open the Games from the Start
Menu, the folder is empty. I tried to delete this folder from Program Files
and got the message, "An unexpected error is preventing the operation. Make
a note of this error code, which might be useful if you get additional help
to resolve this problem. Error 0x80070091: The directory is not empty." I
copied the Microsoft Games folder from another computer running the same OS
as mine, Vista Home Premium, and tried to replace the corrupt one on my
computer and got the same message as just stated. When I click on the
folder Microsoft Games in Program Files, I get the message, "Location is not
available. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games is not accessible, the file or
directory is corrupted and unreadable."
When I first discovered that the Games folder was empty, I tried to do a
System Restore to a day I knew that I could access the games. This is when
I discovered that I was unable to do a System Restore until the corrupted
files were repaired. Any additional suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi buckeye,
You might try to see if one of these methods will allow you to run
chkdsk during startup.
