RE: Computer Freeze Up * Please Help!

I had this problem too. It was an incompatibility between SP2 and the BIOS .
I flashed my systems' BIOS to the latest rev and SP2 booted and runs ok.
My motherboard is ASUS P4P800-e Deluxe with (was)bios 1001.004 and it was
cured when I flashed to 1002.002. The problem was because of the Prescott
P4-2.8E cpu newer microcode that the newer bios provides.

I've got the same problem but i have an ABIT IC7-MAX 3 Motherboard and a
Pentium 4 3.0Ghz Processor. It works after booting the system 12 times?

Click Start >> Run >>
Type the follow command in the Open box.

regsvr32.exe wuapi.dll
regsvr32.exe wups.dll
regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll
regsvr32.exe wucltui.dll
regsvr32.exe MSXML3.dll

then reload the updatepage it should work now

Hi guys,
I have p4p800E Dlx with a Prescot 2.8 Bios 1006.00x
I had no issues installing SP2 on my machine but i have problems of another
type.
Whenever i use windows update, after i select custom or express install,
when it starts scanning, withing a min or 2 my system hangs.

Nothing works.

Ironically, there is another site, where i can register my tv tuner card.
One of the registration pages crashes my comp at the exact same time whenever
i chage a particular combobox value.

any help please...
I have had the same issue when i tried new ram and a new Board. Please help
