Sorry for the delayed response but I now have the answer and thought i would
let other people know The temperary folder took away all attributes so if you
take ownership and give read write access back it will work.
To Jupiter Jones. This was a geniune question and I dont think required a
snooty answer. If you had read the question the problem was caused by the
update not the fact it involved SOME (not exclusive to) excel files. In
future read the question before answering!!!!!!!!
