Unchecking appears to have 'solved' the problem.

YW.

FWIW, one hears that those using AVG v8.5 *must* upgrade to v9.0 by 01
December. I would STRONGLY recommend doing the "clean CUSTOM install"
method in my previous reply to accomplish this (assuming you're gonna stick
with AVG).

security patches to try and keep the internet safer from things lik
worms and botnets
