You can append DNS suffixes for different domains, in the TCP/IP Properties.
You might do better just to use WINS.

A Search Suffix is not a DHCP option. It has to be either manually entered (IP properties, Advanced button, DNS tab), or scripted to roll out to multiple machines.

If pinging single names is all you're worried about, then just use WINS as Anthony suggested.

Hi Bob,

There's an existing policy for this which can be applied to computer
accounts:

Computer Configuration
Administrative Templates
Network
DNS Client

DNS Suffix Search List which takes a comma delimited list of suffixes.
You'll need at least Windows XP for the policy to apply, hopefully that
isn't a problem.
