Your post doesn't supply enough information to diagnose this.
I would suggest to use EITHER zone transfers or Conditional Forwarders.
If zone transfers, the other forest has to allow your machines to pull from
them, and you have to allow them to pull zone data from you. Make sure a
copy of the secondary zone is on all DNS servers (AD integrated).
Conditional forwarding is easier. Simply set it to their DNS, and they set
one up to your DNS.
That said, please elaborate on exactly what you did to setup it up on your
forest and on the other forest. Please be specific.
Tell us in which direction it is not working in. Provide specific examples.
Also, how are you trying to resolve?
Using an app?
Mapped Drives?
By pings?
By nslookups?
By single name or by FQDN?
Please provide specific examples otherwise it becomes guess work to try to
help.
If using single name, does your machine have a search suffix for THEIR
forest?
Are you using WINS? Are they? If so on both, is there a replication
partnership established?
