RE: How do I turn off updates?

Take a look at the article and turn off Automatic Updates, or rather, just
set it to notify but not to download.
(Turning it off completly will cause a nagging prompt at each startup ----
though only 1 time for each Windows startup).

Save your work and close your programs, restart the system just once.
