Number one, it's a laptop. Bus and drive speed are always slower. Doesn't
mention what speed the CD was either. A 4x disc is damn sure slower than a
24x. What kind of files were being transferred? Compressed files, graphic
files, mp3s are going to move/copy slower. Here are screenshots of speed on
my system. Bear in mind this is just the initial speed when the transfer
starts, and I don't even have a top end machine...

So as is normal, the test is either rigged, or the testing parameters are
flawed. Next time, bring something valid.
