Hi,

I am using three Windows Live accounts with Live Messenger.I am behind
ISA 2000 Proxy and I have firewall client installed.

Regularly one account (Most of time the same one) is not able to
connect to Live Messenger with the error 81000378 "You cannot use
Windows Live Messenger at this time because your contact list is not
available. Please try again later."

At the same time, I am able to connect to the two others accounts with
no problem.

I have searched over Internet about a possible solution but I didn't
find a real solution. (i.e : I am still having the issue after
deleteing the folders in Contact and Live Messenger Contacts folders).
So I have enabled the "Save a log of my server connections to help
troubleshoot connection problems" but then I don't know what I can read
in msnmsgr.txt that will help me to debug this problem.

Please could you assist me on this issue ?

Thank you ?

Try going to your browser>Tools>internet options>advanced>scroll down to the
heading security>uncheck "check for server certificate revocation*"

Thank you Lisa.

I am using IE7 and by default this option was already unchecked.

I have tried to check it and uncheck it again but the problem remains
:/

It is quite strange because during the same time, I am using another
WLM account and it is logging on correctly.

This problem appears regularly and always with the same account (I
regularly log on with 2 others accounts that have never the problem).

All email accounts are like @hotmail.com

Thank you

I also have IE7. I just remembered that before I did the uncheck I went to
my control panel and in "add remove programs" I 'repaired' Windows Live
Messenger.

I have added the *.contacts.msn.com to my exception list in IE and now
it is working!

Hope this helps for the others
