How to troubleshoot Windows Update, Microsoft Update, and Windows Server
Update Services installation issues:

2. You cannot install some updates or programs

3a. Check Windowsupdate.log (%windir%\Windowsupdate.log) for errors
associated with the download/install.

3b. Compare errors to those listed here:
http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/archive...date_codes.htm and/or go to
http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com > click on Help and Support link in left
pane > Solve problems on your own.

Please state the KB numbers for the updates you cannot install.

Hi there again,
Go to Microsoft Tech Net, you will find it through
links on XPsite or through MSN.com. Lookfor the file named The Package
installer(formerly called Update exe.) This file is LARGE! but you can easily
navigate through it and print of the eaxact pages that you want to solve
nearly all problems relating to Updating from Microsoft. I printed off the
whole thing and used a whole cartridge of black ink!
