Paul,

Can you try the following?

1. Log-off
2. Select Shut Down
3. Power-up and see if the same error occurs...

Cheers,

Thanks for the suggestion, but no luck.

Afterward, I installed SP2 from the Network Installation Package. That went
fine. However, update now gives error 0x8ddd009. (There suppose there is a
possibility that I missed seeing the change in number from ..007 to ..009
after the reboot, but before SP2.)

Paul,

Can you please send me your WindowsUpdate.log found in the Windows
directory? Just remove NOSPAM from my email :-)

Many thanks,

-David Herman

I am having this same problem. I have applied SP2, uninstalled, reinstalled,
and I currently have it removed. I was wondering how you were able to resolve
this problem. Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem.
I tried to install SP2 and got an "internal error", so it backed out and did
not install.
However, windows update is now busted and I get the 0x8DDD0007 error.
