Setting the BIOS to start with CD-ROM has no effect unless you have a
bootable CD-ROM in the drive...
In my experience, taking the system repair option will help - but it takes
a very long time - long enough to make you nervous. IIRC, it was *well*
over a half hour in my case.
And it doesn't always succeed...
