A Guy named Ken found solution today and posted his cure--uninstall Steganos
Anonym Pro. This will magically allow updates and will also increase your
browsing speed. I had suspected it might be that program because of the
browsing slowdown but didn't think it affected the windows updates. I liked
being stealthy so much I didn't think that could be it that program and I
didn't want to give it up. But that's the solution to these errors. You've
got to bite the bullet and un-stealth yourself to get the updates.
I have not tried re-installing it.
Thanks / props to Ken.
