I also wanted to add the following:

5. Needs to support both Server 2003 & 2008.
6. Configure nightly replication of event logs to a central file share.

Sorry, 1 more functional requirement:

7. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Email Reports containing critical events grouped by
server/computer & event log type (security, app etc.)
