Colt,

According to the info I've received if you have it set to " Notify
me but don't automatically download... " updates, this is " by
design ". You may actually wait up til 3 weeks for XP SP2 to download.
See number 7 on this FAQ for SP2 :
http://www3.telus.net/dandemar/xpsp2.htm

If Automatic Update is set to " Automatic " or " Download updates
for me, but let me chosse when to install them " then SP2 is
*supposed* to download. There should be no delay.

Hi MowGreen or any other MVP

I originally had mine set for "notify b4 download and notify b4 install"
I did get the icon and clicked download. Nothing appeared to happen.
I read in another post that there was a bug in this option that MS was
working on.

Is this correct and if so, has it been fixed ???

I since have changed mine to "automatic" and from what you say in this post,
I'm
going to change it to "download but notify b4 install".

Is there anywhere I can look on my system to see if I have received any of
the incremental
download yet ???

Thanks Frank

Hi Frank ... SP2 will be downloaded *eventually* as there are
millions of users waiting to do so. You can download the entire
package from here if you do not want to wait for it :
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...displaylang=en

By getting SP2 from Windows Update you will not get the entire
package as it determines what updates have previously been installed
that are included with SP2. So, the package will be smaller, but,
you will have to "wait in line" to obtain it.

Hi MowGreen or any other MVP
Thanks for your response but can you answer the 2 questions I asked;

I originally had mine set for "notify b4 download and notify b4 install"
I read in another post that there was a bug in this option that MS was
working on.

1. Is this correct and if so, has it been fixed ???

2. Is there anywhere I can look on my system to see if I have received any
of
the incremental download yet ???

Thanks Frank
